Summer offers and hope for peace in the DR Congo

And, in a world with far too much war and conflict, we would like to rejoice over the ceasefire agreement in the DR Congo that was reached last week between the government and the M23 rebel group. It has been an extremely harsh time for the local population in eastern DR Congo, including the employees at Virunga Origins and the local farmers we trade with.
 
We truly hope the ceasefire holds and leads to a peace agreement here in August.
They are in such dire need of peace and progress in the DR Congo. It is yet another good reason to buy coffee and chocolate.
